A useful enrollment conversation ends with a clear list of actions, owners and dates. Our agents help you understand Medicare options and assist with completing enrollment in the coverage you select. Your choice remains yours, and an application is only one step toward active coverage.
Who does what?
| Task | Responsible role |
|---|---|
| Part A/B eligibility and enrollment | Social Security for most people; Railroad Retirement Board for certain beneficiaries. |
| Explaining and comparing options | An agent can help review coverage, costs and the enrollment process. |
| Private-plan application | You or a properly authorized representative approve the selection; an agent can assist with the application. |
| Acceptance and effective date | The responsible program or insurer confirms enrollment. |
| Clinical decisions | Your treating professionals determine care and provide medical documentation. |
Prepare these details
- Current insurance type, employment status and coverage ending dates.
- Medicare start dates if already assigned.
- Doctors, facilities, prescriptions and preferred pharmacies.
- Your coverage priorities and an affordable budget.
- Employer coverage evidence and prescription creditable-coverage notices.
- Any relevant move, loss-of-coverage or assistance-program notice.
You do not need to publish sensitive documents to start learning. Keep your Medicare number, Social Security number, payment information and medical records private. Provide required application information only through the verified enrollment process when you are ready.
What an agent cannot decide for you
An agent cannot guarantee eligibility, waive a government penalty, override underwriting, approve a claim or promise a provider will remain in a network. Assistance does not give someone permission to sign your name. A family member’s authority to act must be established under the applicable rules; helping you read a form is not the same as being an authorized representative.
What to expect in a conversation
Ask which plan options the agent can discuss and which are outside that scope. Review the products you agreed to discuss, the applicable enrollment period, the requested effective date and outstanding verification questions. Do not sign until the answers are clear. Learning at an educational seminar is separate from a plan-enrollment appointment.
Keep an enrollment tracker
For every application, record the submission date, confirmation number, requested start date, acceptance date and first premium due. Check the new card and any missing-information request. Coordinate termination of old insurance only after verifying the replacement and its timing.
Current availability: Online scheduling is not available yet. The consultation page explains preparation and booking status; visiting it does not reserve an appointment.
